We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a grant of £30,000 from the Veterans’ Foundation towards the running costs of our Military Matters service. A real vote of confidence from one of the country’s fastest growing military charities!

Our Military Matters service celebrated its 10-year anniversary this year. The service provides information, advice and support to veterans and their families on all of the housing options available to them. This could include private renting, social renting, home ownership, veterans’ accommodation and adaptations in all 32 local authority areas in Scotland.

As Ryan MacDonald, our Military Matters fundraising lead describes:

“We continue to see an increase in the number of Military Matters clients accessing our services. In 2022/23, we saw a 30.9% increase on the previous year, so we know that our service is in greater demand than ever before. The cost-of-living crisis is having a direct impact on people’s housing needs across Scotland, and our Armed Forces Community are included in that.

This generous funding from the Veterans’ Foundation will make the world of difference! It is becoming increasingly difficult for charities to source funding for their existing activities. These are the core services that work and that so many clients rely on. This continued support from the Veterans’ Foundation is a huge vote of confidence, and something that we are incredibly grateful for. It will allow us to continue to be there for our Military Matters clients at a time when they need us most”.
